General info

How do I join my first walk?

Everyone is welcome! If it’s your first time walking with us, please email fenedge.footpathgroup@gmail.com at least one week prior to the walk. This allows the walk leader to know you're coming and share any final route updates.

How do regular members get walk updates?

After your first walk, we’ll invite you to join our group mailing list (via Google Groups). Once subscribed, you’ll receive automatic email notifications for upcoming walk details, weather changes, and meeting points.

What time do walks start?

Friday Walks: Usually start at 11:00 AM at the designated venue, unless specified otherwise.

Saturday Walks: Start times vary depending on distance and travel time. Check the individual walk listing for exact times.

Note: Start times or dates may adjust during extreme weather or summer heat. Subscribed members will be notified by email.

Travel & Logistics

How does getting to the walk start point work?

Walkers arrange their own transport to the start location. However, we encourage lift-sharing where possible! If you need a ride, let the walk leader know when you register and we’ll try to coordinate a lift.

Can I get a lift / how does car sharing work?

Yes, car sharing is common. For walks located further out in Cambridgeshire, members usually meet at Cottenham Village Green (or occasionally Cottenham Village College) to share rides. Check the specific walk listing for meeting times and locations.

How are walk starting points located?

Saturday walk starting locations are provided in the walk details using postcodes, Ordnance Survey grid references, and what3words addresses.

Can I bring dogs on the walks?

Yes, provided they are well-behaved, kept under control (and on a lead where necessary, such as near livestock), and the individual walk leader agrees.
